Branding COWS 2010

How fast this year's gone by!  I can't believe it's already time to take our cattle out to Judd Creek!  What a GREAT weekend we had- even though it was COLD n the WIND NEVER STOPPED BLOWING!  It was such a MEMORABLE FUN time!  Brent came up on Thursday n helped Casey take panels out to the bench.  Friday Brent's GOOD friend Kenny came up and helped Casey n Brent gather cows by the hot pots. Travis Keel and his son Tate also helped friday n they camped with us all weekend!  Brent's horse Roanie got with it, n Brent ended up with a few broken ribs!  But bein the cowboy that he is, that for sure didn't stop him.  He got right back in the saddle n rode all weekend, I could tell he was hurtin but that didn't stop him n he sure hid it well!  Saturday they pushed the cows from the hotpot's to the bench, the crew we had that did the pushin was- Casey, Kambry, Brynlee, Bryor Bassett, n Greg, Oakley, Cara Smith, Brad n Shannon Moody, n Travis n Tate Keel, n Kenny, Mike Roper.  The ladies at camp cause we have the lil munchin's that have to stay in the trailor- Christy n Avery Bassett, n Randi n Drew Smith, n Jaime, Broze, n Brystee Bassett.  We had a Great time in camp, we got were able to have a GREAT visit, n the kids had FUN playin, n I really loVed the part where Avery put on her princess dress n was the belle of the ball n had everyone dance with her.  We also made dinner- Chicken n potatoes- YUMMO!  Meanwhile the crew on horse's had a GREAT n SUCCESSFUL drive!  The kid's made for GREAT entertainment!  Cara claims to have found a Tranasaurous Casey bone,  on the ride!  Kam n Bryn got a lil lost on the drive- cause they decided to go there own way!  But, LUCKILY they made it to camp safely- all in all a FABULOUS time!  They rode for eight hour's that day,  we have a GREAT bunch of Cowboy's n Cowgirl's!  The next morning Christy n Brent made Deer Hunt egg's in the Dutch Oven n we had my homemade cinnamon rolls- DELIOCIOUS breakfast!  The wind was BLOWIN HARD!!!!  It sure was a COLD morning! Nevertheless there was work to be done!  Casey, Mike, Brad, Greg, Travis gathered cow's to the north while Christy n Brent set up panels, our new skidstir sure came in handy!  It just packed those panel's right to were they needed to be.  When they went n gathered the cow's to the south- Christy, Avery, Kambry, Casey, Travis, Greg, Mike, Brad, Brent gathered 'em up!  All the while me n Randi were makin CUTE flower's for the girls hair- Randi is sure creative!!!!!  Once the cow's were gathered it was time to get 'em worked n branded!  Now I'm tellin ya, we sure a GREAT bunch of COWGIRLS n COWBOYS it went pretty dang smooth!  Everyone got a chance to rope, it sure was FUN!!!!  Gramps n Ginny made it out for the brandin!  What a FUN time!  We did have a little mishap, the cow's sorta escaped at the very end n so the men had to rope the two remaining cow's.  It's a good thing there good hands!  After Greg n Randie cooked us there YUMMY steaks n potatoes-  I'm tellin ya it's the BEST EVER!!!!!  After Dinner was done- Gramp's n Brad hooked up princess to our wagon n everyone had a buggy ride!  It was so sooo much FUN!  The kids were all little dust ball's, but they DIDN'T want to go home.  They had the time of their lives!!!!!  So, overall I'd say Branding 2010 was a SUCCESS!!!!
